In spite of - or because of - the current heat we are already looking ahead to the winter season with considerable joy!
Snowboarding, which is particularly popular with the younger generation, has become a common sight on the world’s slops everywhere. As a new trend in the nineties it reached the height of its popularity in the noughties. Popular brands and famous sponsorships of well-known contestants gave the sport it’s very own style.
Originally the roots of snowboarding lie in surfing. In the late sixties people experimented with old doors and planks to re-create the feeling of surfing on snow. Today snowboarding is established as part of the top winter sports and still very popular in spite of a decline of numbers in entry level age groups.
